Today's reflection
Even if we could call all powers our own, we should consider ourselves beggars standing outside the gates of Heaven and, holding out our hands, asking for God's Grace as if we were begging for alms; for Grace makes us the children of God.

Meister Eckhart, O.P.

Changing lies through prayer, devotion, and faith
Shrine Photo

There are many ways you can support the Dominican Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus and our intercessory prayer ministry. Giving your time, your prayers, and your financial contributions are powerful ways to show your belief in God's unconditional love for us, His children.

Three reasons to support the Shrine
1. Giving is an act of faith. In the Gospel of St. Matthew, Jesus talks about prayer, fasting and almsgiving as key expressions of our faith in God. (Chapter 6) Giving to the Shrine is a way of saying we believe we have experienced God's mighty power through the intercession of St. Jude.
2. Giving is an act of hope. St. Jude is the patron of those who find themselves in situations that appear hopeless. Perhaps it is a medical report, a job situation, or some tangled relationship that weighs us down. A donation to the Shrine is a way of saying that with God all things are possible –- nothing is hopeless.
3. Giving is an act of love. At the heart of the gospel is the challenge to love our neighbors by helping them, not just by thinking kind thoughts about them. Part of your donation to the Shrine goes to help the Dominican Fathers and Brothers in their ministry of preaching the gospel –- a great good supported by you!

Three ways to support the Shrine

1. Prayer. Prayer is one of the most significant ways you can provide your support. We ask you to prayer for us regularly, and invite you to purchase one of our prayer gifts (U.S. dollars only).

2. Donations. Our Shrine in honor of St. Jude is truly beautiful –- and there are expenses connected with its upkeep. Our Shrine is also a ministry –- and as Jesus said "The laborers deserve to be paid." (Luke 10:7) Part of your donation supports the ministers who work here for you. Note: All online donations are in U.S. dollars. If you are sending a donation by mail, it must be in U.S. dollars.?

Prayer for the Friends
of St. Jude

Dear God, I can get very caught up in my own problems. After all, they are real and cause me a lot of pain. But I remember that I am part of a large human family, your family, and we all have problems. I expand my awareness to include all people, especially the many others who approach Saint Jude with their concerns. I move out of myself to embrace them in prayer and ask that your grace may flow through every one of them.
