My friends, there is orthodoxy and orthopraxis. Orthodoxy is about right thinking while orthopraxis is about right action. Some people are very concerned about whether other people belief's are correct and miss all the good they are doing for others. Sometimes the people who are concerned about orthodoxy never seem to get around to doing good for others themselves.

Friends, what is interesting when we release ourselves of thoughts and just exist in the Now is that we touch into our deepest Selves where there is peace and joy. This is because out center is the Holy Divine Life itself. St. Augustine said, "God is closer to us that we are to ourselves."

Epiphany. My friends, the word, "epiphany," means manifestation. God manifested himself so beautifully in the person of Jesus. However, for an epiphany to bear fruit there must be people whose minds are clear enough to see it. We must clear our minds of the debris of the past and the concerns of the future and see what is before us right now. The now is the only reality there is.

Friends, no matter what our life situation we are not alone. We are interlaced with everyone. Let's take advantage of this situation by enfolding everyone, everyone, in our pryers right now.

Dear friends, a thought is like a ripple in the water, only it manifests in the consciousness field. It extends, and extends, and extends.

Friends, something scientists and mystics are reminding us of is the "web" of life. If I just tap one little part of the web, the entire web will vibrate. Even our so-called private thoughts affect the world. This is why a solitary holy monk in the forest can be so powerful.

Friends, just as I can not injure my foot without the entire body suffering, neither can I injure another person without the whole human family suffering. We are all interconnected.

Friends, we are like many light bulbs giving brightness to a room. Each one of us is an individual and unique bulb, but we can only shine because it is the same energy flowing through us. This energy is God's Spirit.

Dear friends of St. Jude, Happy New Year! Here is a resolution I would like to suggest: That during this year we see all people as "us" rather than some people as "them."

My friends, families will be safe from war, uprootedness and separation only when all of us recognize that we are brothers and sisters belonging to the one human family of God.

My friends, one thing we know our religion is not, and that is, a security blanket. Faith in Jesus leads us to take risks for all people who are hurting. Our security is knowing that God is everlasting and that God is with us, leading us to do each and every act that is kind.

Dear friends, God became one of us in Jesus. When someone really loves another they want to know what their beloved is experiencing and share the experience with them. This is what God did for all of humankind in Jesus.

Feast of the Holy Innocents. Dear friends, there are so many suffering innocents: the unborn, young children, the hungry and homeless, the elderly without sufficient means. May our Christian hearts blaze into action for all of them.

Friends, today we celebrate St. John the Evangelist. It was John who so powerfully proclaimed that Jesus is the very Word-of-Go-in-the-flesh. Think of all the words that have been spoken to you. Some of them harmed you, some, benefited you. Now let Jesus, the Word made flesh, the word that is infinite Love, enter your hearts and always abide there.

Friends, today, right after Christmas, we celebrate the feast of the first Christian Martyr, St. Stephen. Jesus gave himself to us because he knew we were worth it. We give ourselves, daily, for Jesus because we believe he is definitely worth it!

Today's reflection
My friends, there is orthodoxy and orthopraxis. Orthodoxy is about right thinking while orthopraxis is about right action. Some people are very concerned about whether other people belief's are correct and miss all the good they are doing for others. Sometimes the people who are concerned about orthodoxy never seem to get around to doing good for others themselves.
